KiCAD Projects: Speeduino - Open Source Engine Management System (EMS)
Speeduino is an inexpensive, user-friendly Engine Management System built on the Arduino platform.
Based on the affordable and open-source Arduino platform, the Speeduino KiCAD project is a customizable, fully functional Engine Management System (EMS, often known as an ECU). It offers open-source versions of the hardware, software, and firmware parts that go into an engine management system.
After more than a thousand installations, Speeduino has developed into a solution that satisfies the demands of the enthusiast and hobbyist community without raising costs to those of conventional aftermarket ECUs.
Speeduino is constantly expanding, and new features are added regularly.
Here are a few of the most significant ones.
- Support for 1-8 cylinder engines
- Fully interpolated 16x16 Maps
- Open and closed loop boost control
- An extensive list of supported crank patterns
- Detailed and high-speed logging
- VE Analyze Live ('Autotune')
- Secondary map switching
- Individual fuel cylinder trim
- Over dwell and duty protection
