KiCAD Projects: Triple Bypass Version 2
Triple Bypass Version 2 is a Sega Genesis audio and visual bypass circuit.
The incredible 3bp from dbElectronics has been redesigned with this. The project's objective was to use the original design and fit all models onto a single PCB without the need to swap out parts. Jose Cruz, Retrorgb, and I worked together to complete the majority of the testing. Ace, FirebrandX, and Mobiusstriptech were all a member of the team that worked on the redesign and contributed different thoughts and ideas that helped create the finished result.
The mdFourier tool created by Artemio Urbina, which may be obtained here: https://github.com/ArtemioUrbina/MDFourier, was used to alter the audio. Artemio and Bfbii helped me run mdFourier many late hours of the night in order to get the levels as near to a model 1 va3 genesis as possible.
Installation Instructions
Currently, I recommend using the Mega Amp 2.0 Audio Installation Instructions http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?31989- Take-your-Genesis-audio-to-the-next-level-The-Mega-Amp-2-0-is-here!
For the time being, please see https://www.retrorgb.com/genesistriplebypass.html for rgb bypass instructions. I'll keep working to get more up-to-date instructions.
Design Files
This was created with the online software tool Easyeda. While I have made the file open for editing, I have not yet been able to make the files truly open source. This is a work in progress, and I may have to redo everything in Kicad from scratch. The files available here will always be the most recent versions.
