CD4517 is a dual 4-bit static shift register with a serial input (S) and a serial output (R) for each register. It is an integrated circuit (IC) made by Texas Instruments. The IC is commonly used to store and shift digital data in applications such as counters, display drivers, and data acquisition systems. The CD4517 has an active-low clock input (CP) and an active-high clear input (CLR) for each register. It also has four parallel data inputs (A, B, C, and D) and four parallel data outputs (QA, QB, QC, and QD) for each register. The IC is available in a variety of package options and is specified for operation over a wide temperature range.
KiCAD Rookie made a symbol of CD4517 with the dual separate unit, Unit A and Unit B. See the video for the detail on how to make it.
